CARES Act Emergency Relief Grant for Humanities Organizations
SUBMISSIONS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED.
As part of the 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES Act), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) received an additional $75 million in supplemental funding to distribute as emergency relief to cultural institutions affected by the coronavirus.
Nearly $30 million of this funding has already been distributed to the state and jurisdictional humanities councils for local re-granting. Humanities DC will distribute over $350,000 in funding for DC based humanities programs.
As the state humanities council for Washington, DC, HumanitiesDC has been charged with the important task of distributing and administering these funds. The grants will provide general operating support to humanities and cultural organizations facing immediate economic challenges related to the coronavirus pandemic.
